Prophecy Update 2016-05-01

Sunday, 01 May 2016

-For today’s prophecy update I am going to pick it up from last week concerning the stunning developments in the Middle East.    -The reason being is that the situation in just the last seven days has intensified to the point where something will have to give. -It seems that we have a case of who will blink first, and when, not if, that happens, it will have profound prophetic implications.

-For the benefit of those who were not with us for last weeks update, I’ll quickly bring you up to speed with what’s taking place.

First, the tensions surrounding the Golan Heights are escalating to the point that, according to The Times of Israel last Sunday, the Islamic nations called an emergency meeting on the Golan Heights “escalation.” Quoting the Times report “The world’s largest body of Islamic nations has called for an emergency meeting over statements made last week by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Israel would never relinquish control over the Golan Heights. The Organization of Islamic Cooperation will meet Tuesday at its headquarters in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to discuss “Israeli escalation against the occupied Syrian Golan,” joining others in the region to express alarm over Netanyahu’s declaration.

I have to confess that I was a little envious of Jack Hibbs and Amir Tsarfati who were actually in the Golan as this was going down.  I posted the YouTube video on my FaceBook and Twitter accounts, and would encourage you to watch it.

On Tuesday, April 26th, Benny Avni of the New York Post wrote an excellent OpEd titled, “The new UN consensus on Syria: Israel must pay!” -Here’s some of what he had to say, “The Bashar al-Assad regime is outraged. So angry, in fact, that on Tuesday it asked the UN Security Council to do something. And the council, including America, finally agreed on something regarding Syria: It must get back the Golan Heights from Israel. Not Raqqa, the capital of the ISIS caliphate, nor ancient Palmyra. Not northeast Syria, owned by the Kurds, nor the Syrian heartlands controlled by the al Qaeda-affiliated al-Nusra Front. And not the enclaves ruled by Druze and various warlords. Nah. After all, what are half a million lost Syrian lives compared to Syria’s wounded pride over events of a half-century ago? …This month Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened his cabinet’s weekly meeting on the Golan — a first. The high plateau will forever remain Israeli, he later declared. That declaration was “against all Security Council resolutions,” Rafael Dario Ramirez, the UN ambassador of Venezuela, told me Tuesday. So he and his Egyptian colleague called for a special meeting of the UN body charged with maintaining global peace and security.

I don’t know if it’s possible to overstate the prophetic significance of the Golan Heights, and this for a number of reasons, one of which is this Jerusalem Post article from Tuesday, in which they report about the concern in the North being that of ISIS cells using chemical weapons in the Golan. It seems that ISIS, in the southern Golan in Syria, has acquired some of Syrian President Basher Assad's chemical weapons stockpile. …According to the Jerusalem Post, “There have been multiple reports of ISIS using chemical weapons in battle. Last August, the Wall Street Journal reported that ISIS used chemical weapons for the time during an insurgency in Iraq. Russia similarly reported in January that there is a high chance that ISIS has been using chemical weapons in combat in Syria.

This begs the question of what Israel’s response will be, and thankfully, we need look no further than this Times of Israel report on Monday, in which they quote a senior Israeli official going on the record and stating that any IS-affiliate’s use of chemical weapons will be a ‘red line.’ He said, and I quote, “the IDF would strike an Islamic State-affiliated group operating near its border with Syria if there were any indication the jihadist group was testing or using chemical weapons.

Enter Russia, and one Vladimir Putin, who has made it clear in no uncertain terms that he, wants a share in Israel’s natural gas.  Last Sunday, The Jerusalem Post published an article saying how that “the Russian press reported at the end of last week that Russia was seeking to enter the Israeli natural gas industry, following a meeting in Russia last Thursday between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

So what does all of this mean on the grand scale of Bible prophecy? Simply put, every nation, to a nation, is today positioned at the ready, exactly as the Bible says they will be at the end of human history. Specifically, Russia, Iran, and an alliance of nations are all poised, with the hook in the mouth according to Ezekiel 38, and furthermore, nations like Iraq, Egypt Jordan, and perhaps more importantly, Syria, who are not mentioned in Ezekiel 38, are also perfectly positioned exactly as we’re told they would be as well. Namely, Damascus Syria, which according to Isaiah 17; will become a ruinous heap rendering it uninhabitable. In the aforementioned video, Jack Hibbs and Amir Tsarfati suggest that Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction were transported to Syria, and may today be underground in Damascus. If this were the case, then a preemptive Israeli strike, vis-à-vis the Golan Heights, would certainly explain what happens, specifically to Damascus.

I would submit that every puzzle piece of Bible prophecy is now in place, and the next event on God’s prophetic clock is the rapture of the church, which is how I would like to close on this, Communion Sunday. If you were to ask me what I thought was one of the most compelling proofs of the pre-tribulation rapture, it would have to be the typology woven into the fabric of the ancient Jewish wedding customs.  Kindly allow me to share with you why it is that this speaks of us as the bride of Christ.

The Jewish Wedding

Our Wedding

The groom's father makes the match (Shiddukhin) and chooses the bride, and the groom approves the choice.

The Father chooses us the bride, and Jesus approved the choice.

John 10:28, 15:16

A marriage covenant (Ketubah) is made in writing for the bride as a promise to the bride that it will be fulfilled.

A new covenant is made in the written Word of God, for us the bride.  The Old Covenant Promise is fulfilled.

2 Corinthians 3:5-6

They would then break bread and drink from the cup to seal the betrothal (Kiddushin) and new covenant.

He breaks bread and drinks from the cup at the last supper sealing His New Covenant in His blood.

Matthew 26:27-29 Luke 22:14-20

The groom pays the price (Mohar) showing the bride his love for her.

Jesus paid the price for us on the cross.  This shows us the bride how there's no greater loves for us.

The groom makes a speech of promise to his bride that he would come for her soon.

Jesus’ speech is recorded as a promise to us His bride, that He will come again for us soon.

The groom prepares a place for His bride and builds a room addition on his father’s house.

Jesus says He goes to prepare a place for us in His Father’s house where there are many rooms.

Jesus our groom gives us His bride gifts of love, eternal life, peace, etc.

John 10:22-28 John 14:13-14, 27

The Father gives the bride gifts (Shiluhim) to equip her for her new life, as an inheritance.

We are given the gifts of the Holy Spirit and our spiritual gifts are from the Father for us in our new life in Him, and with Him.

John 14:16-17 2 Corinthians 1:2122 Galatians 5:22

The bride would then take a purifying bath or Mikveh which is the Hebrew word for baptism.

We are baptized in the Holy Spirit Who cleanses and purifies us.

Acts 1:4

The bride’s unmarried friends (bridesmaids) attend to the bride and provide light for the groom Who will come as a thief in the night.

We prepare the bride by letting our light shine so the bride is ready for the groom who will come as a thief in the night.

Matthew 25:1-13

The bridegroom comes, the grooms' men run ahead and shout that He is coming by blowing the Shofar.

When our bridegroom comes, it will be with a shout of the trumpet that Jesus is coming.

Rev. 4:1 / 1 Thes. 4:16-17 / 1 Cor. 15:51-52

Jesus, our groom will rapture us away as He abducts us as His bride.

Luke 17:34-36

The groom takes his bride to the chamber: they consummate (Nissuin), and celebrate for a period of seven (Shavuah) days.

Jesus will take us to His bridal chamber where we will consummate and celebrate for a period of seven (Shavuah) years.

Joel 2:15-16 Daniel 9:27

The party waits outside until the groom tells the best man that it is consummated. Then the guests rejoice for a period of seven days.

During our seven year celebration, the world goes through the seven year tribulation.

There is a big feast, (the wedding feast), after the wedding celebration.

We too, after the seven year celebration, have the Marriage Feast of The Lamb.

Revelation 19:9

There were three groups present at the wedding: the groom, the bride, and the invited guests.

There will also be three groups of people involved in the marriage of the Lamb: The Groom –Jesus, The Bride-Church and the Guests-those saved after the Rapture, at the end of the seven year tribulation.

2 Corinthians. 11:2, Ephesians 5:23-27 Revelation 21:9-10 Rev 7:13-14
