Prophecy Update 2018-06-10

Sunday, 10 June 2018

-For today’s prophecy update we’re going to do something a little different than what we usually do in looking at the Middle East. -While the developments of prophetic significance are moving fast particularly as it relates to Israel, I’m led in another direction. -Specifically, that of the current volcanic eruptions on the Big Island of Hawaii, as well as the devastating eruption in Guatemala.

-It’s my belief that the increased volcanic activity is another prophetic sign that indicates just how close we are to Christ’s return. -If you’ll indulge me, I will argue the case for the prophetic significance of unprecedented earthquakes, eruptions, and tsunamis. -What follows are several prophecies in the Bible that speak of these things leading up to, then fulfilled in the 7-year tribulation.

Luke 21:25–28 -25 “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; 26 men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 27 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”

Matthew 24:4–8 -4 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. 6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.

Revelation 6:12–14 -12 I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood. 13 And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind. 14 Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place.

Rev 8:8–9 -8 Then the second angel sounded: And something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood. 9 And a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.

-Several weeks back I did an urgent prophecy update in which I referred to the documentary titled, “The Coming Convergence.” -Three of my fellow Calvary Chapel pastors, who I’m privileged, to know are in it, Jack Hibbs, Ray Bentley, and Tom Hughes.  -I really encourage you to watch this outstanding quality production, as it ties everything together that’s happening prophetically.

-The reason I mention it again today is because they talk about these prophecies concerning great earthquakes and volcanism. -The statistics are staggering as it relates to the number of volcanoes 90% of which are under water and most are undiscovered. -One huge volcano in particular is Tamu Masiff in the Pacific Ocean, which is believed to be the size of the State of New Mexico.

According to the USGS, “There are about 1,500 potentially active volcanoes worldwide, aside from the continuous belt of volcanoes on the ocean floor. About 500 of these have erupted in historical time. Many of these are located along the Pacific Rim in what is known as the 'Ring of Fire.' In the United States, volcanoes in the Cascade Range and Alaska (Aleutian volcanic chain) are part of the Ring, while Hawaiian volcanoes form over a 'hot spot' near the center of the Ring. There are 169 potentially active volcanoes in the United States.

-The concern amongst many experts is the increase of big earthquakes as evidenced by this chart using USGS recorded data. -This because, all it would take is one massive earthquake and subsequent smaller earthquakes to cause volcanic eruptions. -Actually, it’s for this reason that we’ve seen an increase of volcanic activity, such that we’ve seen an increase of earthquakes.

-The bigger concern is the potential for a volcano, such as Kilauea, sliding into the ocean causing an unprecedented tsunami. -Please know that I in no way wish to come off as sensational or provocative, rather I only wish to point out how this is plausible. -Not only is this plausible, it’s prophetic in the sense that this is exactly what we were told would happen at the time of the end.

-Simply put, we are now witnessing that which will ultimately be fulfilled in and during the tribulation beginning to happen now. -As such, this should cause every single one of us to consider what all of this means to us while there’s still time to respond. -By that I mean, the time is at hand, and if you’ve never called upon the name of the Lord Jesus to be saved, today is the day!

1 Corinthians 15:1–4 --1 Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. 3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,

The ABC’s of Salvation -A is for Admit you’re a sinner – Romans 3:23 says that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. The B is for Believe. Romans 10:9-10 says if you believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, you will be saved. The C is for Call. Romans 10:9-10 also says if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. Romans 10:13 says that all who call upon the name of the Lord will be saved.
